Dr. Mei Mei Yip joined International Doctors Limited as a General Practitioner and as part of the Child Health Care team.
Growing up in the north of England, schooling in the southwest and then graduating from St. Bartholomew’s and Royal London School of Medicine Hospital, University of London in 1997. Most of her training was spent in the East End of London with some time spent in a general practice in the southwest of England.
In 1998 she moved to Hong Kong where she specialised in paediatrics at the University Paediatrics and Adolescent Unit at Queen Mary Hospital. Her 6 years training there included General Paediatrics, Paediatric Cardiology, Neonatology, Haematology, Oncology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Intensive care medicine and Developmental Paediatrics.
She became a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK in 2006. During this time she also obtained her Diploma in Child Health and is certified for the Griffiths Mental Development assessment. She gained her Diploma in Advances in Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2014. She was also an Honorary Tutor for the medical students at the University.
She moved to the private sector to expand her field to include general practice. Growing up she saw the importance of the role of a family general practitioner who offers a continuity of care to the family. Her special interest still remains in child health and development but not in isolation. She wishes to be involved in the health care of the whole family. Being a mother of four young children she has a lot of practical experience to offer.
Mei Mei and her husband are advocates of a healthy lifestyle. Both have recently participated in the Hong Kong Marathon.
